Description

Join us on Tuesday 9th May for an engaging, and insightful disability awareness training session with Mark Restall. Mark will be talking honestly and openly about disability issues, ensuring a non-judgemental setting where you feel comfortable to ask questions. Whether you regularly come into contact with people with disabilities at Fulham Palace, you're interested in the garden volunteer buddy role, or you would simply like to ensure you're disability-friendly, then this training session is for you! Not only will the session give you great transferable skills for your CV, it is also aimed to give you a few tips that will alter your perceptions. The session will help to ensure that the Palace is a truly welcoming and enjoyable place for all to spend time.

At the end of the training attendees will have:

  • A general understanding of disability issues
  • A grasp of appropriate language
  • Knowledge of barriers people with various impairments face, and an understanding of relevant etiquette
  • Greater confidence in their interactions with disabled visitors, volunteers and staff
