The Disability Confident scheme is a UK Government led initiative designed to support employers in recruiting and retaining disabled people and those with health conditions. It is a voluntary scheme that offers free resources and guidance to help employers create inclusive workplaces.
Here at Uckfield Chamber we believe that this is an important issue and as such, we want to provide local businesses with the opportunity of hearing more about the scheme. To participate in ‘Disability Confident’ can enable employers to think differently about disability and gain accreditation, across three different levels.
We are grateful to our member CJ Thorne & Co, for sponsoring the breakfast to enable the cost of attending to be kept at a minimum of just £5 plus booking fee. The only criteria to attend is that you must employ at least one additional person within your business. All local businesses are welcome to attend, not only Chamber members.
The East Sussex National will provide a Continental breakfast from 7.30am before the meeting begins at 8.15am, when we’ll have a range of speakers to discuss more detail of the ‘Disability Confident’ scheme, including Mims Davies MP.
