About this event
This webinar will highlight the support available to you if you have a disability and are looking to find a job or training opportunity.
By the end of this session you will:
- Be more aware of required recruitment practices
- Understand the need for inclusive recruitment to attract the right staff into job roles
- Be more aware of employers' responsibility to make reasonable adjustments in order to enable people with disabilties to be able to work
- Be more aware of the Access to Work scheme that people with disabilties can apply for and be used to fund a wide range of help to enable them to travel to work and function fully in a job
- Understand how the labour market has changed
- Know more about 'reasonable adjustments' employers can make to support you
- Be aware of the Disability Confident scheme
- Understand the support available to you to help your career planning, job search activity or access to further learning or training
Webinars are delivered via Microsoft Teams
For new customers, we recommend that you have an appointment with a National Careers Service adviser before the webinar takes place.
In the appointment the careers adviser will help you to:
- explore different careers and options
- review your strengths, skills and develop your career goals
- plan your next steps
- make the best use of high-quality, career-related tools
- understand the local job market
- access learning, training, apprenticeship and employment opportunities, including making applications
- develop your CV, interview skills and job searching techniques
- implement your plan of action.
