Discover a personalised approach to hormonal mayhem: the menstrual years 

Update your clinical practice with the latest research and key clinical takeaways delivered by Shoela Detsios, BSc (Can), ND (Aus.), mCNHC, FHEA.

The menstrual years affect all women. Dysfunctions and symptoms are often different for individuals and require a personalised approach.

This seminar will:

  • Explore dysfunctions in the female hormonal cycle some common conditions that affect many women who appear in clinical practice.  
  • Define key mediators and core imbalances, which may be negatively impacting a client’s hormonal health.
  • Review the importance of methylation for hormonal health.
  • Investigate the impact of oestrogen dominance.
  • Provide insights into the use of functional and genetic testing.
  • Discuss recent nutritional interventions and considerations for PMS, Fibroids and PCOS.  

  

Keynote Speaker

Shoela Detsios BSc(Can), ND(Aus.), PGCEHE, mCNHC, FHEA

Shoela is a highly experienced lecturer and registered practitioner with over 20 years’ experience in the domain of Natural Medicine. She is a dynamic and engaging lecturer who combines her knowledge base with humour. Her approach blends her academic and professional training; Bachelor of Science (Canada) and Diploma of Advanced Naturopathy (Australia). Shoela lectures for several educational providers in the field of Nutritional Therapy and Biological Sciences at undergraduate and Post graduate levels.  She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Shoela currently holds posts at the University of Worcester and The Institute of Optimum Nutrition and has conducted lectures on behalf of Lamberts for many years.

 She has diverse experience of working with adult learners and empowering them with the skills for lifelong learning.  In addition to helping clients achieve their health goals, educating and training future practitioners is part of her profile. She can take scientific research and make it relevant for the audience. 

 

 Schedule for the Day

  • 9.30am - 9.45am  - Introduction from BANT 
  • 9.45am - 10.45am  - Session 1
  • 10.45 - 11.15am - break and opportunity to visit supplier tables/stands
  • 11.15am - 12.15pm - Session 2 
  • 12.15pm - 12.30pm - Q&A
  • 12.30pm - 1.30pm - Lunch break - delegates to bring packed lunch or visit local cafes/shops and visit supplier tables/stands
  • 1.30pm - 2.30pm - Session 3
  • 2.30pm - 2.45pm - Q&A and closing

The North Regional Branch covers North East, Cumbria, North, West and South Yorkshire and North West of England and aims to attract members to half-day events held twice a year in venues central to our region. Our goal is to give members an opportunity to attend regional BANT events with high quality speakers. We also aim to promote networking and collaboration amongst members in the North of England, particularly for those who are not able to join a BANT Local Network due to their remote location.
