School's out for summer and we’re offering an exciting opportunity for 8 - 11 year olds to take part in a 3 day art camp with us here at Everyday.
In the Discover Art Camp, young people will investigate the art around them, research an artist and share their journey with others, resulting in them achieving their Discover Arts Award certificate!
Arts Award is a range of unique qualifications that supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form - from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry. This exciting project will last for three days in the summer holidays where young people will learn from professional artists and engage in a range of art activities.
Tuesday 27th August - 10.30am - 2.30pm
Wednesday 28th August - 10.30am - 2.30pm
Thursday 29th August- 10.30am - 2.30pm
We ask young people to attend for the full duration of the project (all three days) as this will give the participants enough time to complete their Discover Arts Award.
We ask for a donation of £10 to cover the cost of all 3 sessions but if you find yourself in financial difficulty and would still like your child to attend, you are more than welcome to make a smaller donation when booking.
PLEASE NOTE: The sessions are aimed at ages 8 - 11 years old. Please book one place per child attending. This is a drop off and pick up workshop and each parent/carer must fill in our contact details sheets with relevant information on medication, allergies and provide an emergency contact number. We will send you a details form directly to your email prior to the event. Please provide your child with a packed lunch!
REFUND POLICY: If you find you cannot attend the event, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. We cannot offer refunds if you cancel within 48 hours of the event taking place.
How to find us:
Everyday is situated in The Old Courts (https://www.theoldcourts.com/) and the session will be held in the Community Room. Please come to entrance 5 and a member of staff will let you in a few minutes before the start time. Don’t worry if you are late! We will check the door periodically if any attendees are missing.
Public Transport: The Old Courts is a 5 minute walk (0.2 miles) from Wigan Bus Station, a 2 minute walk (0.1 miles) from Wigan Wallgate Railway Station and a 3 minute walk (0.2 miles) from Wigan North Western Railway Station.
Parking: There is room for cars to pick up and drop off just outside The Old Courts on Crawford Street. Parking on Crawford Street is free after 6.30pm and on Sundays.
Nearby car parks include The Grand Arcade (4 minute walk / 0.2 miles), Mona Street Car Park (4 minute walk / 0.2 miles) and Dorning Street Car Park (2 minute walk / 0.2 miles).
Blue badge holders are entitled to park on the single yellow line on Crawford Street during its times of operation for up to 3 hours without charge.
