About this event

This is a switchback walk between three valleys, with some steep climbs. Although you don’t spend much time walking by the becks, this walk gives a fine sense of the network of tributaries that flow down from the Queensbury ridge into Bradford Beck.

LENGTH: 5.5km (3.4 miles).
DURATION: 2:30 hr (approximate)

TERRAIN: Quite strenuous in places, with three steep climbs. Some road walking. One area may be boggy. Overall ascent 210m. OS map 288.
START: Start of the Great Northern Railway Trail next to Thornton Primary School, Thornton Road, BD13 3NN (opposite Ashfield Road). w3w ///reds.soap.bless
PARKING: There is some parking on Thornton Road, or park courteously in side streets.

BUS: From Bradford 607 to Ashfield Road, or 67 to Kipping Lane. Walk forwards along Thornton Road to the Primary School.

PLEASE BRING:

  • waterproofs and/sunhat depending on the weather

PARTICIPATION: under 18s and vulnerable adults must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
