This is a fine walk, starting just off Thornton Road, rising up to Clayton and skirting the edge of Thornton. It takes in panoramic views across the valley towards Thornton Viaduct, visiting five becks along the way.

LENGTH: 7.2km (4.5 miles) including optional detours.

DURATION: 3 hr (approximate)

TERRAIN: Moderate, with three climbs. Overall ascent 177m. OS map 288.

START: Entrance to Pitty Peck wetlands on Bell Dean Road, BD8 0RB (opposite Charteris Road). https://what3words.com/among.asks.native

PARKING: Park courteously on local roads.

BUS: 607 or 67 to Bell Dean Road, 615 to Avocet Close, Bell Dean Road.
