Hear and see the mathematical delights hidden in Edinburgh's city centre. Along the way uncover some highlights of mathematics developed over the past two thousand years and try your hand at some intriguing puzzles and games. Playfully acquaint yourself with exciting notions of logic, geometry and cryptography. The tour has been designed to be of interest to families, adults, mathematicians and non-mathematicians alike. Join us and have history be brought to life by some of the University of Edinburgh's mathematicians.
The activities are best suited for people older than 11, however, there is no formal age restriction. The tour is child friendly and there are no steps or stairways on the route. Please note that all children need to be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult for the whole duration of the tour.
We will begin our tour at the Witches' Well and end at the Scottish Parliament. The tour should take about 1 hour and 30 minutes, exact duration depending on foot traffic.
