Join Friends of Havoc Meadows for a nature walk exploring the unique wildlife and natural heritage of the Havoc Meadows in Dumbarton.
On this relaxed stroll you'll learn about the birds, insects, mammals and wildflowers, and how generations of use have shaped this much-loved site. Discover this hidden gem on your doorstep!
The walks are taking place on:
Saturday 2 August, 1pm - 2.30pm
Sunday 31 August, 1pm - 2.30pm
Accessibility
The walk on Sunday 31st August is designed with accessibility in mind, and will be suitable for wheelchair users. However, we will try to cater for all abilities on both walks. Please let us know when you book about any access needs you have.
Tickets
Both walks are free but numbers are limited, please book your space on Eventbrite. If the walks are oversubscribed we will keep a waiting list and if any tickets become available we will release these close to the event.
Weather
We will keep an eye on the weather and keep our fingers crossed for a dry day! If we need to postpone the walk due to weather we will contact everyone the day before to let you know.
What to bring
Please come dressed for the weather - in Scotland in August that could mean a waterproof jacket, jumper, sunscreen - or all of the above! Please wear sturdy shoes or boots and bring a bottle of water.
Meeting point & parking
The meeting point for both walks is the first car park on the right as you drive down Havoc Road towards the meadows (across the road from the cliff and Wallace's cave)

Public transport
The closest train station is Dalreoch, a 20 minute walk away.
Bus number 208 or 206 will get to from Dumbarton to the nearest stops on Cardrosss Road or Hawthornhill Road (both a 10-15 minute walk from the starting point).
