Discover Learn Start Co-ops WORKSHOP
Overview
Funded by the Department for the Economy (DfE), ‘Discover, Learn, Start Co-operatives’ is a six-month educational and awareness-raising co-operative programme. This will be delivered by a partnership between Trademark and Co-operative Alternatives to deepen public understanding of co-operatives as democratic, values-led enterprises. The programme introduces individuals, communities, and organisations to the principles and potential of co-operative models, highlighting their relevance to inclusive economic development, social justice, and ecological resilience.
Central to the initiative are five face-to-face workshops that explore diverse co-operative models in practice, including worker co-operatives, housing co-operatives, energy co-operatives, community co-operatives, and multi-stakeholder models.
Workshops will be events held in various towns in NI. Next ones are in Newry. Lisburn and Fermanagh. These sessions offer participants real-world examples, governance insights, and pathways to action.
FACILITATORS: Alice McLarnon (Trademark) and Tiziana O'Hara (Co-op Alternatives)
