The world's first iron bridge was erected over the River Severn here in Shropshire in 1779. This pioneering structure marked a turning point in English design and engineering; after it was built, cast iron came to be widely used in the construction of bridges, aqueducts and buildings.

Join our knowledgeable volunteers to find out more about this fascinating site and its history. Tours are being held at 11:00 and 13:00 on 13, 15, 16 and 20 September.

Booking is essential. Parking is available at The Station Yard car park in Ironbridge. There is a charge for parking. Meet at the Tontine end of the Bridge.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your tour start time.
