Discover The Artist in You! A Four-Week Art Workshop Series
Join textile artist, Margarida Lourenco Olivier in Week 3 of our adults-only taster workshops for JH Members, at Jersey Museum.
Our 4-week series of workshops will explore different ways to kickstart your creativity and introduce you to new ways of responding to the world around you through art and crafts.
Week 3: Plant to Pattern - foraged embroidery workshop
This week's workshop, 'Plant to Pattern' will guide JH Members through a creative exploration of nature’s forms and colours.
Members will use foraged local plants, learning how to extract natural pigments from leaves, flowers, and stems. These organic colours and patterns will inspire the next stage of the process—translating nature’s details into stitch. Using embroidery hoops, natural thread, and embroidery floss, Members will create their own textile pieces, drawing on the textures, lines, and tones found in the wild. This workshop offers a grounding, hands-on experience that connects art-making with the natural environment.
Whether you're a complete beginner or someone who wants to rediscover your artistic flair, this workshop offers you a fantastic opportunity to learn a new skill, relax, unwind and meet like-minded JH Members in a fun and supportive environment.
All abilities are welcome, and materials are provided.
Special Opportunity
At the end of the workshop series, your embroidery work will be showcased in Discover the Artist in You!, an exhibition opening this December at the Link Gallery, Jersey Museum, in which you will be invited to a private view.
