Event description

Description

Are you feeling anxious, stressed or socially isolated? Have you been through a challenging time which has left you exhausted, demotivated and lacking in confidence?

This course is an opportunity for self discovery and self development, through exploring the 5 core components of good mental health – Character, Composure, Connection, Creativity and Challenge. You’ll be able to see your strengths and skills more clearly, and identify a personal development plan to move forward.

The seven weekly sessions of 2 hours will have a different focus each time, to gradually build your sense of future direction, and will include practical activities and exercises for good mental health.

There's a taster workshop on Friday 24 January at 10.30am - come along to this one hour event to find out more about the whole course and decide if it feels right for you.

The course sessions are all on Fridays from 10.30am to 12.30pm, in the training room at the Buckland United Reformed Church.

Dates are: 7 Feb, 14 Feb (break for half term week), 28 Feb, 6 March, 13 March, 20 March, 27 March.

Facilitated by Carolyn Barber, co-director of the Good Mental Health Cooperative, this course follows on from a series of Wellbeing Workshops exploring different aspects of our mental wellbeing.

By registering your name and email address for any workshop, you agree to be added to the Good Mental Health Coop mailing list. Personal contact information is gathered for the sole purpose of communications via our email newsletter site hosted by Mailchimp. You can easily unsubscribe at any time. Details remain confidential and will never be passed on to any third party except as required by UK law.

About the Mental Wealth Academy

The Mental Wealth Academy supports people to access community based activities and workshops which help with inclusion, recovery and good mental health. The support is intended for people who have experienced serious life challenges, are socially isolated, anxious or lacking in confidence. This may include experience of mental ill-health, addictions, disability, bereavement, caring responsibilities for example.

At the Good Mental Health Cooperative, we believe that connecting with others, and informal learning opportunities, are really important steps to good mental health, bringing a sense of inclusion and challenge, rather than feeling isolated and lacking in purpose.

This is an introductory programme, with funding provided by the Big Lottery for the free workshops and courses.
