Event description

Description

This Discovering China Session is part of the Development Week Programme (May2019) at Queen's, which aims to provide students an insight into Chinese culture (linguistic, socio-political structure, educational, economic and technological development, etc.) in relation to/comparison with the UK, looking at the basic communication skills that one needs to get started, including but not limited to:

  • pronunciation

  • meanings in numbers

  • logic in expressing time and space

  • basic social interactions

The session is open to all QUB students and particularly suitable for those students who are interested to develop basic language skills and cultural awareness for their work with local Chinese communities and those in preparation to study or work in China for a short period of time.

Additional information:

If you look to attend Chinese language classes between the end of April and the end of June 2019, please consider signing up for the Language Centre Mandarin Chinese programme. We are happy to announce that the 3rd semester course enrolment is running from Friday 1st March 2019 for courses to start Monday 29th April.
