Discovering Happiness

Join us for an interactive and inspiring evening with Mark Williamson as he shows us how refocusing our attention has the power to transform our lives.

Our attention is one of our most powerful assets. Yet we often feel unable to control what's on our minds - and find ourselves struggling with worries and fears, information overload or the general feeling that our lives are out of control.

But it doesn't have to be that way. Combining mindfulness principles with the latest ideas from positive psychology, Mark will introduce five simple ways of re-focusing our attention which have the potential to transform our day-to-day experience of life.

About The Speaker

Dr Mark Williamson is Director of Action for Happiness, which he has led from an idea on paper to a mass participation movement with tens of thousands of members and a wide range of activities. He has a long-standing interest in happiness and well-being and is passionate about creating a happier and more caring society.

Mark has done work relating to happiness with a very wide range of organisations, people and projects, including leading academics, major multi-national corporations, public sector organisations, policy makers, SMEs, schools, charities and community organisations. He is regularly asked to speak at major events and conferences and often appears on TV, radio and other media in connection with his work. 

Location and Timings 

This event will take place at Conway Hall in central London on Weds 26 November 2014. Doors will open at 18:30 and the event will start at 19:00

Tickets

This event is in support of Action for Happiness. We want to make it accessible to as many people as possible, so rather than charging a fixed fee we're instead asking you to make a donation. It would be great if you could donate £15, but if you can spare more, or feel unable to give that much, then please give what you feel is appropriate.

Any funds raised (beyond the costs of the event) will contribute directly to Action for Happiness' work relating to growing the movement and supporting local action groups relating to happiness and well-being. Action for Happiness is part of the Young Foundation, a Registered Charity (274345) in England and Wales.
