Event description

One in four people will experience a mental health issue in their lives and some say it is one in three. That person could be you.

Given these high numbers, Allia has set itself a challenge to discover new insights in to why this is happening and is bringing local people together to better understand it to help find solutions.

We are inviting participants to attend a Discovering Insights for Mental Resilience event on the evening of 29th March at the Future Business Centre, Norfolk Street (next to the Box Cafe) at 5.30 for 6pm where together with a panel of experts you will uncover insights to develop new solutions in the area of mental resilience. We will be discussing:

  • What does it mean to thrive?

  • Why is there a major epidemic in mental illness now?

  • What are the causes?

  • What are the issues/barriers to recovery?

  • What does the future hold? Are there any gaps in current provision?

  • Mental health issues in the workplace – causes and solutions

  • What are the strategies that work in helping people build mental resilience?

  • How can we get people to recognise they are struggling to seek help?

  • How could people get support from the people in their lives/professionals?

You will go away with new knowledge from experts and people with lived experience of mental health issues to improve your own mental health and wellbeing and that of a friend or relatives. You may even be inspired to launch your own project in this developing and topical area.

Drinks and a delicious meze meal are provided and the environment will be relaxed and informal with no obligation for you to share any personal experiences.
