Description

A short talk will be followed by a guided tour of the Story of Reading gallery to see the artefacts that illustrate the history of Katesgrove from Roman to modern times.

Tour times are 11am and 2pm and last 1-1.5 hours.

The tour starts with the brass lamp used at the Hindu Temple at the top of Whitley Street that is displayed in the dramatic new centrepiece to the gallery. Other exhibits include those relating to industrial heritage from medieval times to the twentieth century and the fashionable cultural scene on London Street in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries.

This is a Heritage Open Days event organised by the Whitley Pump and hosted by Reading Museum.

The event is not suitable for unaccompanied children.
