Disorders Vol. 3 is the third in a series of collective exhibitions by Disorder Live Art collective featuring international artists working both individually and collaboratively, exploring the potential for the live action to re-think physical and conceptual exchanges in non-linear space and to disrupt traditional notions of spectatorship and participation in public art.

The exhibition will open on Friday 8th November with an evening of live performances and will continue on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th November with the screening of moving image works, performance documentation and a special programme of participatory, interactive live pieces with a focus on active participation and audience engagement.

As part of our Saturday programme, artists Demelza Toy Toy and Louise Ashcroft will present two interactive, participatory pieces with a focus audience engagement. These are ticketed events.

Saturday 9th November 2pm - 2.30pm | Demelza Toy Toy | An Introduction to the Theory and Practice of New Week Association

Consider the days of the week: How they might frame our lives and inform our reality as we step out into the world?

Demelza Toy Toy and Annie Pender present the guiding principles of the theory and practice of New Week Association or NWA as it is more commonly known. Best described as a practice that performs a non-evasive self-administering cognitive procedure, NWA adjusts or re-focuses reality for positive reinforcement of self.

3pm - 4pm | Louise Ashcroft | Gnippohs

Louise Ashcroft presents Gnippohs (or shopping backwards), a new lifestyle concept which invites influencers and insignificants to mutate marketing methods through experimental creative exercises, using a shopping bag full of clutter as our toolkit. The artist will lead you through a pile of fragmented stories as you invent content for Gnippohs’ post-shopping YouTube channel which you’ll help shoot during this collectively-authored performance. This is an improvised work, so expect it to be shambolic, raw and real.

The event is produced in-kind support from Ugly Duck

Disorder Live Art is a not for profit organisation dedicated to the production of performance and live art founded in 2018. The main goal of our collective is the creation of an open, itinerant network to offer art practitioners a sustainable model to develop their practice, and reach a wide, diverse audience in different social and institutional contexts. Our public programme includes exhibitions, events, workshops, reading groups, and an international residency scheme currently under development. Our members and collaborators present research-based practices that take the form of live performances, installations and community projects.

Ugly Duck revitalises underused spaces opening them up for creative uses, enabling artists, community groups, professionals and the public to come together. They host unique cultural experiences and curate events to promote and support emerging artists.
