Dispute avoidance makes commercial common sense. Disputes take time, people and money to resolve. If they can be avoided in the first place, then all parties are presumably better off. Disputes can be avoided, and with any form of contract, following its requirements should maximise the probability of doing so.

Patrick will explain the provisions of NEC4 contracts designed to avoid disputes between the Parties. The Dispute Avoidance Board will be explained as will other provisions (such as early warnings) which contribute towards collaborative relationships and the avoidance of disputes.
