About this Event

As technology continues to develop at a faster pace and we find more innovative applications to adopt across all industry sectors, it is clear that digital technology is increasingly important and one industry that continues to lead innovation through new tech innovations is finance. Blockchain, P2P lending, robo-trading, detecting fraud, etc. are just some of the groundbreaking innovations in the financial industry.

This meetup will examine how the financial service industry continues to move from the exploration phase to actively applying new technologies in their operations and how these innovations can be adapted to fully transform our financial processes in day-to-day life.

Here is the current line-up of the upcoming speakers:

1. Tom Winstanley, VP Innovation and Advisory, NTT DATA UK

Tom is a vice president at NTT DATA and leads its innovation advisory unit in the UK. With over 20 years of consulting and platform delivery experience on the interface between business, customer experience, and technology, alongside his management role, Tom remains active in consulting engagements in telecommunications, financial services, and the public sector.

He leads interdisciplinary teams of commercial, creative and technology professionals to deliver impact and is responsible for running NTT DATA’s Foresight services in the UK, startup and academic partnerships as well as R&D and collaborative IP development across markets. A frequent public speaker, Tom is currently focused on the human impact of emerging technologies from immersive experience platforms to AI and IoT.

2. Paul Brook, EMEA Data Analytics & AI, DELL

Paul Brook manages a team of data analytics and artificial intelligence specialists at Dell EMC. His team works with customers, business partners and technology integrators across EMEA describing and designing platforms that help to make money and save money for businesses and public sector organizations as part of their digital transformation.

Author of ‘The Life of AI’ (Amazon June 2018) Paul was previously responsible for various programs within Dell, including hyperscale/cloud and high-performance computing. Before Dell Paul worked in the application development and managed services sectors. Before joining the IT industry Paul worked for a consultancy that specialized in business performance improvement.

3. Patrice Neff, Co-Founder, Squirro

Entrepreneur helping to streamline business workflows with the Squirro augmented intelligence platform.

From the initial engineering of the base product to building up the solution engineering team for the successful roll-out of Squirro implementations at our customers, to the setup of the partner network and now the sales efforts in the UK and Asia.

4. Dominik Friedel, Business Development Manager, NTT Innovation Labs

Dominik Friedel is a strategist at the NTT Global Innovation Labs, where prospects, customers, partners, start-ups and the world’s most advanced technology providers create a vibrant community to validate innovations faster and at a lower cost in a real-life test environment, hosted by one of Europe’s leading data center providers. Prior, he worked at Hewlett-Packard as a solution architect for enterprise IT systems.

Disrupt Meetup brings together fintech enthusiastic enterprises, and startups that want to get to know the technology, understand how it can be used and applied in their processes and those that already invest in it. Englisch/English: Through participating in this event (that is, through ordering a free ticket with Eventbrite), the participant gives his consent that Disrupt Network UG (haftungsbeschränkt) and NTT Global Innovation (1) saves name and contact data (e.g. email), (2) is later on allowed to send emails to the participant, and (3) is allowed to take photos and videos during the meetup that might be published (e.g. online, offline) and that might include the participant. Should individual provisions of this contract be ineffective or unenforceable or become ineffective or unenforceable after the conclusion of the contract, the validity of the rest of the contract remains unaffected. The ineffective or unenforceable provision shall be replaced by an effective and enforceable provision whose effects come closest to the economic purpose pursued by the contracting parties with the invalid or unenforceable provision. The above provisions shall apply if the contract proves to be incomplete.
