What is Top Hat?
Top Hat is a comprehensive teaching platform that helps educators easily create an interactive learning experience.
You can use Top Hat in a lot of ways:
* an audience response/voting system (using students' own mobile phones, iPads, or laptops)
* presenting slides or content in real-time, directly onto students' screens so they can follow along
* getting in-class feedback and discussion, even anonymously, to help you engage those quiet students
* release asynchronous content and questions as "homework" or for revision, on a designed-for-mobile platform
* & more
Lecturers at Coventry University who are already using Top Hat are praising it- some of them even enthuse at length! Their students are more engaged from lecture to tutorial, and are more willing to share and discuss. It's enabled the lecturers to have a better connection with students, and be more responsive and effective in teaching sessions. It's so easy to set up and use, but can result in a big impact.
No Cost for Staff and Students at Coventry University
The Faculty of Engineering, Environment, & Computing has funded a university-wide site license for Top Hat through October 2016. This means it is free to use by ALL staff and students! EEC is very excited about Top Hat, and we hope you will be too.
If you're interested but can't attend a session:
You are welcome to sign up for a "Professor" account and create a course at any time:

There is also a [- 2-sided handout you can download -] which outlines Top Hat's main features and benefits. It's a great summary of information.
