Dissecting Medicine’s Past

We are organising a session aimed at medical students exploring the ‘grey areas’ in the history of cadaver and donated body use in medical education, including anatomical teaching. This is an underexplored topic in the Oxford curriculum, but we believe it is important to consider the stories of people affected. We will be considering issues of consent, the law, and ethics implicated in this topic, both today and in the history of medical education in the Western model.
