Event description
This is a researcher development workshop for University of Westminster staff.

About this Event

Publications are said to be vital to the career trajectory of an academic, however the merits of investing time into the communication of this research, and the best ways of doing this, are not always recognised. This workshop is aimed at researchers who wish to find out more about the relevance of the variety of publishing options for their research, routes towards building an academic profile, and the specifics of scholarly communications that reach beyond Westminster.

By the end of the session attendees will be able to:

  • Recognise key communication channels notably metadata, social media, articles, and books
  • Appreciate some of the key benefits of diverse publication formats and open access
  • Understand why publishers highly value active networkers

This workshop will be delivered by Andrew Lockett, Press Manager, University of Westminster Press.
