Event description
MONICA BOHM-DUCHEN - LIVED AND IMAGINED HISTORIES Some Thoughts on the Work of First and Second Generation (Jewish) Visual Artists

About this Event

Monica Bohm-Duchen, initiator and Creative Director of the very successful Insiders/Outsiders Festival, presents the series' opening seminar in honour of the new exhibition at New Walk Museum & Art Gallery, Leicester:

Monica Petzal – Margarete Klopfleisch, Dissent and Displacement: A Modern Story (8 February – 19 April 2020)

With reference to the exhibition, Monica Bohm-Duchen considers the differences in approach of artists who experienced the upheavals of the 1930s and 1940s at firsthand, and of their descendents.

The interdisciplinary 'Dissent and Displacement' Public Seminar Series is presented by the University of Leicester's School of Arts and Stanley Burton Centre for Holocaust and Genocide Studies, in collaboration with Leicester Museums and Galleries.
