District Safeguarding Network Briefing
These District Safeguarding Network Briefings build on our Area Safeguarding Conferences. Each Briefing is a 2-hour breakfast meeting with invited speakers that gives you chance to meet with your DSL locality peers, discuss issues and come away with a range of resources that you can take back into your school/setting.
The events are designed to help you meet the statutory requirements laid out in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2016, in addition to providing you with information to feed into your 2016/17 Section 175 self-assessment and meet a challenge by Ofsted or ISI with regards to safeguarding training for yourself and your school. KCSIE 16 requires schools to keep the DSL and all staff up-to-date with safeguarding agenda. The briefing will look at the major topics that will affect schools within the context of District provision, City-wide or National level. Attendance is encouraged from the DSL in every school regardless of its designation and also members of the senior leadership team who have strategic oversight of safeguarding within the organisation.
These District Safeguarding Network Briefings, which are for representatives of Birmingham Schools only we would ask please that each delegate register with their school/setting mailbox address.
We look forward to welcoming you at this event.
