About Divaldo Franco:
Divaldo Franco: Medium, Teacher, Lecturer, Writer
Professor Divaldo Franco was born in Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brazil. From an early age, he displayed clairvoyance and clairaudience abilities, often playing with friends that were invisible to others. In 1947 together with his lifelong friend Nilson Pereira, he founded the Caminho da Redenção (Path to Redemption) Spiritist Centre. It was the start a life dedicated to the poor, the sick and the needy which continues to this day, even after the passing of Nilson Pereira. Two years later, in 1949, during a train journey, he had a vision of himself as an older man and a voice that told him that he would take care of orphaned children. Indeed, in 1952 he opened Mansão do Caminho (The Mansion of the Way) which provides shelter, schooling and care for orphans and children of poor parents. Professor Franco has himself adopted more than 600 children, mostly abandoned at the door, whose parents could not be found. Today Mansão do Caminho has become a deeply respected educational institution offering courses, from elementary school to professional training, as well as giving the children guidance and help with jobs once they leave. To this day more than 30,000 children have received care and education there.
Mansão do Caminho also provides shelter and care for the elderly. The work continues and grows day by day, and has a new maternity and pre-natal unit to care for poor women who otherwise would have no assistance. In all, nearly five thousand people are fed there every day.
Professor Divaldo Franco has travelled extensively in Brazil and to every continent of the planet, giving lectures, conferences and seminars. He has spoken at the United Nations in New York and Vienna and has given thousands of interviews to newspapers, radio and television. He provides regular video messages on the internet and via social media.
His message of brotherhood, tolerance, understanding, peace, caring and love has been heard by thousands of people in almost every language.
During a lifetime of complete dedication to the wellbeing of his fellow men Professor Franco has received many honours from several countries and honorary degrees and doctorates from many universities around the world, including: Degree of Doctor of Humanities Honoris Causa in Spiritual and Psychic Sciences from the International College of Psychic and Spiritual Sciences and from the government of Montreal, Canada; Medaille de Reconnaisance from the Humaniste Institute of Paris; Medalha Camara Municipal de Leiria, Portugal; Medalha da Cidade de Lobito, bestowed by the Government of Angola, Africa; Degree of Doctor of Parapsychology Honoris Causa from Cyberam University in Illinois; and Degree of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Bahia, which was the first time that such a title was given to a Spiritist medium.
Among his many honours, the one he prizes the most is Diploma of the Order of Merit, a distinction given by decree of the President of Brazil to those who stand out at national level for their dedication and work in helping foster the welfare of others.
Professor Franco has worked as a medium for over 70 years and has co-authored more than 170 books through psychography (automatic writing), working with over 217 spiritual authors but mostly with his spiritual guide Joanna de Ângelis. He has also received thousands of messages in Afrikaans, French, German, Italian and Castilian Spanish, languages that Professor Franco does not speak. In fact, he published the book Hacia Las Estrellas, which was the first book to have ever been written through automatic writing in a language other than the medium's own. He has also received messages back-to-front in languages that he does not speak.
We could spend a lot of time talking about his achievements, but it is better to listen to Divaldo Franco himself. Come and join him in London on 14th May, 2017.
