David will take you through what you need to know about film photography covering basic principles, film types, format, cameras, processing and digital workflow / darkroom practice.

This event is suitable for anyone interested in starting film photography, someone who wants to get back into it or anyone that enjoys using traditional film cameras - always something to learn.

About David

Dr David Mitchell is a Director of Historic Environment Scotland responsible for cultural assets in the form of properties, collections and archives and a number of associated activity. He is Chair of the Stirling Smith and he is behind Analogue Photography based at Made in Stirling (self confessed camera geek). David has 30 + years experience as a photographer and is particularly interested in traditional processes and keeping the skills and practice alive. He specialises in landscape and street photography - from the Icelandic wilderness to the streets of Glasgow…
