About this Event

Forget 'DALP Day' as you know it, this year we are launching a new approach to our annual, trust-wide professional development day.

The newly named Diverse Academies Conference will take place on Monday 25 February 2019 – packed with keynote speakers and workshop sessions set to inspire and leave you with food for thought to advance your role within our organisation

The day will be focused around our core priorities and be delivered by a number of high quality presenters.

The event will be held at our largest academy, Tuxford, and is open to all Diverse Academies employees. Transport will be provided from all other academies on the day. Arrangements for those staff working part time will be arranged with Academy CPD Leads locally.

The agenda for the day is as follows:-

9.00a.m. - 9.30a.m. - Arrival and refreshments

9.30a.m. - 10.30a.m. - Keynote /Workshop

10.40a.m.- 11.40a.m. - Keynote/Workshop

11.45a.m. - 12.45p.m. - Lunch

1.00p.m. - 2.00p.m. - Keynote/Workshop

2.10p.m. - 3.10p.m. - Keynote/Workshop

3.10p.m. Close

The Keynote and Workshop provision is listed below. Speaker/trainer bios and course details are available to you on the Conference section of the staff portal to assist you in choosing your options.

Please note:All delegates must attend 'An introduction to the Diverse Academies Institute (Workshop 1)'; with the exception of SLDG members who have already received this briefing - unless you want to see it again in brief outline and ensure you get to see Mark de Lisser and his team!

All delegates must choose either 'High performance teams – Dr Steve Ingram (Workshop 2) OR 'The key to successful leadership – Sharon Amesu (Workshop 3) at some point during the day

You are free to choose your remaining two workshop sessions. If you need any support in selecting which is best for you, please discuss this with your line manager or academy CPD Lead

Places for each session are limited, so you may need to arrange your programme according to availability.

Workshop 11 - Carl Houghton, Bluesky - Refresher training on Bluesky Software and getting ready for your mid-year review

Workshop 12 - Michelle de Middelaer, Bluesky - Quality Assurance and Self Evaluation for middle leaders in the performance management process - how can Bluesky help?

Workshop 13 - Stephen Casey, ASCL - Thinking about retirement - different sessions during the day for teachers and operational staff (Teacher Pension and LGPS)- please ensure you choose the correct one for you.

Workshop 14 - Bal Pierpont, ASCL - Leading Great Meetings

Workshop 15 - Jakki Pritchard - An Introduction to Mindfulness (p.m. sessions only)

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. You will be given the opportunity to let us know of any dietary/accessible requirements as you book on the event. Transport is also being provided by your Academy which your AOMs are organising on your behalf - please see them for more details.

Please be aware that the event booking site will close on the 8th February to enable staff to administer bookings for the day.

It is going to be a very busy and exciting day - your help and co-operation with managing this event is very much appreciated, so we ask you to keep to deadlines and instructions for booking as given.

Evaluations for the event will be sent out immediately after the event. All staff will be expected to complete a return to enable us to review the quality of the day.
