You are invited to a breakfast panel discussion with leading thinkers on the issue of workplace diversity and inclusion.

With increasing demands on businesses to publish pay gaps and set board and senior management targets, we will be discussing latest developments in reporting requirements and what companies can do to stay ahead of the curve and show leadership on the issue.

Speakers include:

  • Caroline Waters OBE, Deputy Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission

  • Paul George, Executive Director of Corporate Governance at the Financial Reporting Council

  • Liz Lynch, Head of Public Affairs, TSB Bank

  • Dr Yvonne Thompson CBE, Entrepreneur and Author

The event will take place between 8:30-9:45am on Thursday 30th November at Lexington Communications, 4th floor, 198 High Holborn, London, WC1V 7BD. Coffee, tea and breakfast will be provided from 8:00am.

Caroline Waters OBE, Deputy Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission

Caroline has served as the Vice Chair of the Equality & Human Rights Commission since 2013. She has been the driving force behind many diversity-focused groups and is currently the Vice President of Carers UK and an executive board member of Project Fortis, a careers network for service leavers and veterans. Caroline has also chaired Employers for Carers from 2001 to 2013 and was the founder and inaugural Chair of the Employers’ Forum on Belief and the Lone Parents working group. In the 2010 New Year’s Honours List she was awarded the OBE for services to diversity and equal opportunities.

Paul George, Executive Director of Corporate Governance at the Financial Reporting Council

Paul has been Executive Director of Corporate Governance at the Financial Reporting Council for the last thirteen years. Prior to his current position, he was Director of the Professional Oversight Board. He has also served as a main board Director of a UK publicly quoted company specialising in helping multi-national companies improve their operational efficiency. From April 2011 to 2013 he chaired the International Forum of independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR).

Liz Lynch, Head of Public Affairs, TSB Bank

Liz joined TSB in September 2015 as their Head of Public Affairs, having previously worked at Bell Pottinger and, prior to that, the Conservative Party. Liz is a Trustee of the GREAT Initiative, a charity which engages with men and boys in the movement towards gender equality. This year she was included in Management Today’s 35 women under 35 awards sponsored by Accenture.

Dr Yvonne Thompson CBE, Entrepreneur and Author

For the last thirty years Yvonne, a successful entrepreneur who has worked in the PR, Marketing and Communications industry, has been an activist and a campaigner supporting women and minorities in business. Throughout her career she has advised corporates, government and educational establishments on the importance of diversity in UK workplaces. In 2003 she was awarded the CBE for her tireless work in championing equality and diversity. More recently, Yvonne sat on the Board of the Government initiated Parker Review into the ethnic diversity of UK boards. In 2015, she published her first book ‘Seven Traits of Highly Successful Women on Boards’ charting the rise to the top of 22 female boardroom executives.
