Description

NOTE: This is a members-only event

Diversity and Inclusion can be a sticky subject, even for companies with the best intentions. But why is it so difficult to address this topic? If we as individuals understand the importance of D&I, where are we falling short? How do we identify and uncover our blind spots, bridge the gap and build a culture of inclusion that creates a lasting and equitable balance in the communities in which we work?

This training is designed to unpack common challenges to achieving diversity and inclusion within purpose-drive companies, and workshop solutions for overcoming them. During this training, Jenna Burton and Stacy Charles of Wild Fruit Agency will lead the group in an honest discussion around access, unconscious biases, discrimination and allyship in the context of sustainability, social impact and enterprise. The training will also cover topics of race, ethnicity, gender and class, in an effort to shine a light on the intersections of exclusion and uncover barriers to creating an inclusive business. Because of the sensitive nature of these topics, we will do our best to create an intentional safe space to foster a productive conversation. We ask that participants join with an open mind and a willingness to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Who is this for?

Social enterprises who are committed to improving diversity within their ranks and want to take an important step toward incorporating inclusion as a core tenet of their sustainable business model.
