Diversity ESOL – Communicating Across Cultures in Driver Training
Overview
As instructors, we work with pupils from all walks of life. But when English isn’t a pupil’s first language, the challenges of communication can multiply (for both the learner and the instructor). To be effective, safe, and inclusive, we need strategies that go beyond ‘speaking slower’ or repeating ourselves.
Building on our Basic Diversity Workshop, this session with Kathy Higgins & Leanne Condliff focuses on multicultural communication, especially with ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) pupils. You’ll leave with practical strategies to connect more effectively, teach with clarity, and create inclusive learning experiences.
