Description

Diversity in volunteering: Attracting different and specific demographics.

22 February 2018 at The Crypt, Christ Church Spitalfields Commercial Street | Spitalfields | London

This event will look at some of the challenges and benefits of diversifying volunteering teams by including different demographic groups. We will hear from organisations that have run campaigns focused on particular groups, including older volunteers, younger volunteers, and more specific groups such as LGBT. We will also look at some broader diverse volunteering strategies.

Most of us understand the importance of diversity, both to reflect the local communities in which we operate and to appeal to a more diverse audience. Some organisations feel the need to target specific groups while others want to broaden their diversity across the boad: this event will address all these issues and more.

How older volunteers make such good sense.

Why do younger volunteers enjoy less legal safe guarding than young employees?

Do LGBT volunteers want to be defined as such?

There will be discussion sessions and networking opportunities where attendees can share their own experiences, challenges and successes.
