Event description

Description

In summer 2017, Lee Craigie and Rickie Cotter rode the Tour Divide, a mountain bike route that follows the Continental Divide down the spine of the USA, and covers a distance more than three times the length of the UK, with just under 20 Everests’ worth of climbing. The rules are simple: eat and sleep when you like, but the clock never stops. Follow the exact route. Remain completely self-supported. And if that’s not enough of a challenge, racers have to dodge bears, lightning storms, snow and snakes. Lee and Rickie self-filmed the whole way and together with Mike Webster (helped by Thomas Hogben and Kirk Watson), have created the feature film Divided.

It’s not a straightforward story. None of the best stories are.

Join us for a Nottingham's ONLY showing of Divided. We'll be joined by Lee Craigie herself and there will be a Q&A session immediately following the film. You have the opportunity to submit your question(s) on the event order form.

To make this event as affordable as possible, tickets are by donation with a limited number of free volunteer tickets. Please donate as much as you can afford, we are suggesting a minimum of £10 (NB Eventbrite fees will be added to your donation), to ensure we can cover the costs and enable the evening to go ahead.

Lee Craigie is founder and a Director of The Adventure Syndicate.

The Adventure Syndicate is a collective of female endurance cyclists whose aim is to increase levels of self-belief and confidence in others (especially in women and girls) by telling inspiring stories, creating an encouraging community and delivering enabling workshops and training. They do this because they love the way adventuring by bike makes them feel and they passionately believe we are all capable of so much more than we think we are.
