The Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR) and CAST would like to invite you to join our workshop exploring what it means to deploy the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in grant-making.
AI has the potential to reduce tedious and/or time-consuming tasks, but it can also add much friction and frustration to grant-making. IVAR and CAST are hosting a workshop, bringing together funders and charities, to explore what it means to deploy the use of AI in grant-making for the benefit of everyone involved. We’ll be focusing on the application stage of funding: writing and submitting funding applications, assessment criteria, due diligence and grant assessments; with the aim to co-create a set of shared objectives for the implementation of AI. The session will include peers sharing some examples of how they are using AI and a participatory component to develop guidance for the sector. We’ll also be reflecting on how AI can help funders make progress towards open and trusting grant-making.
As part of this programme, we are keen to make sure the learning we gather also has a wider benefit to support charities and funders to adopt AI in meaningful and effective ways for the sector. We’ll be taking summary notes, drawing out the key themes from the conversation. The notes will be fully anonymised - we won’t attribute a quote to you or your organisation. We’ll share a short summary of the key points with you over email. We plan to produce an anonymised output for our communities engaged in adopting AI.
Please note: We have limited capacity for this event and we're aiming for an equal representation of both funders and charities. We would appreciate it if only one person from your organisation registers to attend so that we can ensure that as many organisations as possible are able to participate.
