Welcome to the DIY & Home Maintenance for Beginners Workshop! Are you tired of calling a professional every time something breaks at home? Join us for a fun and informative day at Cheadle Village Hall where you'll learn the basics of DIY and home maintenance. From fixing leaky faucets to hanging shelves, we've got you covered. I will guide you through hands-on activities and provide valuable tips and tricks. Don't miss out on this opportunity to become a home improvement pro!

Do you find yourself often paying over the odds for having those annoying bits fixed? Would you like to feel more independent in this area of your life?

Worry no more! I am here to help you discover or develop your DIY in the home skills.

No previous DIY experience needed at all. Ideal for complete beginners of for those who have dabbled with bits of DIY already but would like to expand on some skills.

I would be delighted to welcome you to my friendly and welcoming one day hands on practical workshop

Learn to be independent in your home and garden whilst making some new like-minded friends in a relaxed, supportive and beautiful environment.

During this practical and hands on day of DIY you will learn:

– Hammering, drilling & fixings: drill bits, fitting rawl plugs, screws & nails

– Checking for electric wires, water and gas pipes before drilling

– Hanging a level shelf & picture

– Filling gaps & fillers

– Electrical: about safety and fuses, rewiring a plug/changing a fuse, rewiring a light fitting

– Plumbing: fixing a leaky tap, repairing a leaky water pipe, bleeding a radiator, re-pressuring a boiler

– Painting and Decorating (descriptions and discussions)

– And many more useful tips

Please don’t worry if you are a complete novice! I will start from the beginning and explain all about the tools and techniques with some invaluable tips from my own experience.

Alternatively if you have dabbled a little in the world of DIY already, but want to develop your skills, then this is the course for you. The numbers are kept small (6 to 10) to allow for one-to-one instruction during the day.

Each workshop will run from 10am to 3pm with lunch break and plenty of coffee/tea/cake in between – Mum’s delicious homemade cream scones and gorgeous cakes are becoming very popular among workshop attendees!

Everything you will need for the workshop will be provided and is included in the price including full detailed notes for you to take home with you.
