Event description

Description

Have you always wondered if there’s another way of working in our communities?

What would you do if you had a chance to do things differently?

We are delighted to announce DIY SRGs: A Two-Day Collective Learning Experience in Glasgow. If you have been in touch, or have heard about us, and are committed to using WEvolution’s Self-Reliant Group (SRG) approach in your work, now is the time to learn how to do it.

Self Reliant Groups represent the rise of a new people-led movement in Scotland bringing change that really matters to peoples’ lives, their families and their communities.

DIY SRGs will include training in the start-up of SRGs, working through case studies to understand ongoing group development and drawing a roadmap to get your organisations started on the SRG journey.

We are only able to offer 10 spaces on the programme, so please book early to avoid disappointment. The cost of the programme includes all meals, accommodation and resources for you to take part in developing the SRG movement.

For further information, or to book onto the course, please contact Jade Adcock T: 0141 550 3755 E:-jade@wevolution.org.uk

COST: £350

There were times throughout day one that I felt quite emotional and overwhelmed with excitement about the SRG movement and the potential that it holds for the people I work and live with.
I could envisage how this would happen and work.... I do believe strongly that people need to become more self-reliant because of the situation with government and extreme cuts that are crippling and in some cases killing the people I know and work with.
It would massively reduce the risk of people falling into extreme poverty and desperation if they too could see how capable they are.
I do believe that SRGs could be the answer to reducing the apathy and defeat that these people feel.
