Description

Privacy Self-Defence - Why should you care what Facebook knows about you?

Have you ever wondered what Facebook knows about you? Whether you pay more for products and services because of targeted advertising, tracking, and profiling? Whether criminals might steal your identity and empty your bank account?

If you’re like 61% of online users, you care about your privacy but you might not know how to protect it.

In this evening lecture, we will explain why privacy is valuable, why it makes good sense to care about it, and what the main threats to your online privacy are.

Based on demonstrations of the most important settings and tools, we will show you how you can protect your privacy more when you browse the web, use Facebook and Twitter, and send instant messages.

Come along to the Cyber Technology Institute to find out how you can start protecting yourself online in five simple steps.
