This documentary film by Martin Baer (2001) depicts resistance to and rupture caused by the German colonial experience, focusing on the 1954 restitution of Chief Mkwawa’s skull. It is narrated through the eyes and mediation of his great grandson Haki Mkwawa, a computer specialist, who was interviewed during his visits to German archives and in Tanzania. Film length: 53 minutes, trilingual: Swahili, German & English with captions in English.
