Event description

Description

In the 21st Century should we prioritise supporting people with problems on our doorstep or does spending a pound in a developing country have more impact than a pound spent here?

With Lord Lieutenant Peaches Golding as Chair, our distinguished speakers will debate the motion “This house believes that charity begins at home”.

Discover why politician, architect and entrepreneur George Ferguson and Bristol’s Deputy Mayor Asher Craig believe charity begins at home and find out why venture philanthropy pioneer Stephen Dawson and founder of African micro-finance charity Deki, Vasthti Seth, disagree.
