Gold Open Expedition : Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th April 2021

We offer an open Gold package which allows you to complete your practice Expedition for the Gold award in 3 days. This is ideal if you don’t have a group to do your expedition with or can’t make your schools dates. We offer training based in Basildon, Essex, followed by a 3 day expedition.

Practice Training :- This is for young people that haven't carried out a Gold expedition before. You will carry out some training/ Route planning in Basildon on Monday 19th October 6pm till 7.30pm which is compulsory.

Dates:- You are paying for:-

Monday 22tnd March- Expedition training - 6/30pm till 7.30pm

Expedition to Northdowns: 2nd-4th April 2021

Pre-expedition information pack given out in Training.

Equipment lists

Camping fees for the practice expedition or qualifying expedition.

Free use of group equipment. Tents, Trangia stoves, maps, compass and fuel.

Comprehensive training covering all aspects of the DofE syllabus.

Supervision throughout the expedition.

Accredited Assessors for the qualifying expedition

Consent form :-

After booking on and paying for your expedition you MUST send us a consent form 6 weeks before the event. We can not take young people without a consent form. Please email it over to info@mudandmaps.co.uk. Failure to attend the Training/ Route planning session will result in you not being able to attend the expedition.
