Dog Portraiture Workshop with Linda Johnstone, Sussex

Dog Photography is Linda Johnstone's specialty, this intensive workshop is designed to give you a "hands on" experience of how to get the best images of dogs in a relaxed style, whilst using studio lights to bring the best out of the dogs coats, and if the weather is kind, using the natural light of the great outdoors!
This workshop is aimed at the amateur and professional alike, and will allow you to build on your current knowledge.
A basic understanding of your camera is essential.
After coffee and an informal chat getting to know everyone, there will be covering a wide variety of subjects regarding the business of dog photography and how to get amazing images using studio lights and natural light. Here are some key points:
- When to shoot on location or use studio lights
- The breakdown of the shoot
- Cameras & lenses
- Lighting Equipment
- Backgrounds, bases & props
- How to be creative
- Managing different dog personalities, including rescue, elderly, show dogs and different breeds
- How to organise a litter shoot - and get the shot in one go, without having to do a composite
- How to market you business and be profitable
After lunch, the afternoon will be spent with dogs shooting in different situations.
The first shooting session will be spent getting formal style studio shots.
The second session will be concentrating on natural light both indoor and outdoor shots (weather permitting)
You will have plenty of hands on opportunity to get your own images.
There will be an assistant on hand at all times to help manage the dogs
Linda will demonstrate how to get the best shot. Then you will have the opportunity to get your own shots. Linda will be working with you to help with lighting and advice if required during your time shooting.
