About the Speakers:

Tom Simpson (Managing Director, China for the China-Britain Business Council)Tom is the Managing Director, China Operations & China Chief Representative at the China Britain-Business Council overseeing their thirteen offices in China based out of Beijing. Tom has been at the China-Britain Business Council since joining in 2013 as Guangzhou Chief Representative, Assistant Director for South China. He has previously served as the Chongqing General Manager for the British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China from 2010-2011 and General Manager of the British Chamber of Commerce Guangdong from 2011-2013.

Robert Fenner (Partner at Taylor Wessing) Robert advises companies and investors on their buy, build and exit strategies. He works with UK or international companies at all stages of their development. As part of Taylor Wessing's China group, he helps many Chinese State Owned Enterprises and other large Chinese and South East Asian companies expand internationally.

Michael-Florian Ranft (International Head of China Group at Taylor Wessing) Michael Florian is the founder of the Shanghai and Beijing offices and heads the international China Group of Taylor Wessing. He is considered a leading expert in Sino-foreign transaction business. Since the early 1990s, he has been advising on investments in and out of China - from project structuring (including IP), drafting and negotiating contracts to questions of subsequent business operations.

Paul Sheedy (CEO and Founder of Unifi.id) An alumnus of the Mayor's International Business Programme, Paul is a serial entrepreneur in innovative technology with many years of experience in doing business in China. He is experienced in loyalty data solutions globally, digital comms, design and detection systems.

Cathy Xu (Vice President, Shanghai Office, London & Partners) Cathy Xu is the Vice President of London & Partners Shanghai office, responsible for Business in East China. She used to work in the British Consulate General Shanghai for almost 10 years, including in the FCO and DIT roles. She is experienced in government relations and promoting Trade and Investment Between UK and China.
