Turkey is Europe’s 6th largest economy and the UK’s 10th largest European export market. Bilateral trade between the UK and Turkey has increased by 70% since 2010. In 2015 UK exports to Turkey were $5.5 billion, with UK companies selling a wide range of products and services. Business in Turkey consistently remains resilient and UK companies continue to remain active in a number of Turkey’s large infrastructure projects such as the Istanbul Grand Airport and Healthcare Campuses project.
Neil Floyd the Deputy Consul-General and Head of Trade and Investment at the British Consulate-General in Istanbul and Chris Gaunt, Chairman of British Chambers of Commerce in Turkey will provide an update on the political and security situation in Turkey. They will discuss how recent events in the country have affected business and outline some of the opportunities that are still available in what is Europe’s emerging market.
There will be an opportunity to have one to one meetings with the speakers after the round table.
