Living better by design.

This conference will promote the adoption of dementia-friendly principles in the design of all buildings, places and spaces, sharing latest research and developments, aiming to influence public policy, professional practice, education and training. It will also offer the chace to experience innovative models such as co-creation through living lab methodologies.

The conference will bring together leading academics, local and national government officials, senior practitioners from the design industry, dementia care and wellbeing providers as well as people living with dementia and their family carers, in order to look at how better design helps to remove barriers to living well with dementia.

Purpose of the conference

  • To raise awareness and generate debate about the importance of design for people with dementia and their carers

  • To influence national policy and guidance of statutory and regulatory bodies in relation to the design of external and internal environments

  • To influence education, training and practice of relevant professionals

  • To share learning and showcase good practice
