About this event
"Franks’ influences are broad...accomplished and highly accessible"
★ ★ ★ ★ Jazzwise Magazine
Dom is “a local sax hero with a national reputation” (The Jazz Mann) and a former winner of the Daily Telegraph Jazz Award.
Dom Franks’ StrayHorn was formed to showcase his harmonically emotive, lyrical, but groove-driven compositions. Dom’s project comes to Steamin’ to celebrate the release of his new album (Duality Pt. 2, out September 2025).
Fuelled by a love of 60s and 70s jazz and Brazilian music, Dom’s highly anticipated latest recording follows his acclaimed 2024 release Duality Pt. 1, that received a 4* review in Jazzwise and picked up airplay on Jazz FM and BBC Radio 3.
Lineup:
Dom Franks - tenor & soprano saxes
Aidan Pope - electric & acoustic guitar
Jules Jackson - bass
Alex Steele - keys
Andrew Brotherton - drums
