About this event
This Webinar first ran in September 2021 and reached full capacity in just 1 week. We are able to offer the opportunity again for those that were unable to make it or would like to share it with colleagues, friends or family.
This 2 hr Webinar is for professionals working with those experiencing domestic abuse as well as within the legal arena. The Webinar will suit anyone looking for increased knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse as well as the family court system. The session is also suitable for someone trying to support a victim or survivor of domestic abuse through the Family Court system or a victim or survivor themselves.
The Webinar looks at how domestic abuse sits within the Family Court system, some of the protective orders that can be sought within Family Court but also discusses some of the gaps in protection which aren't always mediated in either criminal or family court.
The session looks at the Family Court experience itself, how domestic abuse may be evidenced and proved in family court proceedings as well as how the process is experienced by a child. The session looks at how those working within the process can dig deeper and explore how domestic abuse could be impacting on those involved.
Best practice is looked at in engaging effectively and safely with victims, survivors and their children. Ways in which a perpetrator of domestic abuse may attempt to use or disrupt the Family Court system are also discussed.
