Safeguarding Solutions Consultancy

How effective is your agency in safeguarding children? How effective is your agency at working with partners to safeguard children?

It would be surprising if you could provide a completely confident response to either of these questions.

If we are to achieve effectiveness in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, then all staff with a role to play in keeping children safe require good quality training.

At Safeguarding Solutions Consultancy we are fortunate to have an established, well-regarded multi-agency training programme in safeguarding children which is set out in this brochure. The document also describes the philosophy and standards which underpin the training and details the courses currently available.

It is self evident that we face significant challenges in keeping children safe in the UK. Locally and nationally, serious case reviews frequently reveal deficiencies in our individual and collective efforts. But the most pressing dilemma arising from serious case reviews is that we seem to keep repeating the same mistakes.

We must become much better at ensuring that lessons are learned, embedded in the way we do things and passed on to new staff. This is what makes effective safeguarding children training so vital.

Training helps us to learn from past experiences, enhances our practice and improves our chances of doing a good job. The multiagency dimension of the training enables us to understand what each partner brings to the table, gets rid of “us and them” and strengthens partnership working.

We strive to deliver high quality training which meets the needs of those attending and their employers. Please tell us what you think of our training as we are determined to keep improving, updating and enhancing it.
