Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Training - Level 2

About this Event
Please read through course descriptions prior to booking to ensure your professional experience, responsibility and previous training will support the level of learning of each session. All sessions are free of charge. (Late cancellation fees do apply).
Level 2: This level 2 course is for health professionals, professionals with safeguarding responsibility or professionals with responsibility for the management of staff.
It is aimed at people who are working directly with people affected by domestic abuse, who want to further develop their knowledge and understanding of the scope of domestic abuse and sexual violence and how to appropriately respond and refer to local services. It is recommended if no previous training or professional experience of working with domestic abuse and sexual violence that you first attend our Level 1 course. Covered within this full day course is further exploration of the topics covered in level 1 and an introduction to additional topics. This includes;
• The Scope of Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence including CSE
• The impact that abuse has on victims and to be able to recognise the signs and indicators
• Stalking, harassment, honour based abuse
• An Introduction to The Risk Indicator Checklist (DASH)
• An Introduction to the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC)
• Information Sharing
• How to respond appropriately to victims including a pathway for risk assessment
You will receive further details of this event prior to delivery date. Please ensure that you read all specifics regarding the venue and parking and print any pre course materials sent to you prior to arrival. Refreshments will be available but please bring your own lunch if attending a full day course.
