Domestic Abuse – Community Conversations
Event Information
About this event
Dear All,
As part of the 16 days of activism for White Ribbon campaign, we are holding a free Learning event for our communities across the boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth. The aim is to increase our residents’ knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse issues and empower to contact support organisations when they or someone they know is experiencing domestic abuse.
Our speakers from Refuge, Age UK and Asian Women’s Resource Centre will be focusing on the following topics:
- What is domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children
- Overcoming barriers faced by survivors to accessing support
- Harmful practices (Honour-based violence, Forced marriage, Female Genital Mutilation, Faith-based abuse)
- Older people and domestic abuse
- Local and national support services
The event will be held via Zoom. Those who sign up will receive a link to the event.
We are looking forward to seeing you then!
