About this event

Other

This workshop is aimed at front line practitioners who are working in Southampton with families and individuals impacted by domestic abuse and harmful practices such as HBA. It provides a detailed review of the Domestic Abuse, Stalking and Honour-Based violence (DASH) risk assessment tool used by police and partner agencies to identify the level and type(s) of risk someone is facing, and to refer high-risk cases to Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC). The workshop will also include an overview of the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) referral process in Southampton including MARAC.

Learners will:

  • Understand how to use the DASH Risk Model (2009) and the connection to early risk identification, intervention and appropriate referrals for support and intervention
  • Examine specific risk factors such as coercive controlling behaviour, 'Honour-Based' Abuse, economic abuse, non-fatal strangulation
  • Relate DASH risk assessment to the homicide and suicide timelines
  • Identify perpetrator patterns of behaviour and impact on victims
  • Identify high risk factors including serial and multiple perpetration of abuse, stalking, etc
